Brendan McGrath
and associates

We have experience of most types of planning advocacy, including making objections to local authority planning decisions and lodging appeals to An Bord Pleanála. We deal with residential, recreational, conservation, retail, industrial, agricultural, transport and energy projects.

Planning advocacy

Brendan McGrath has wide experience of making the case for and against proposals in the various arenas that are set out in the planning legislation. The opportunities for engagement are invariably subject to tight deadlines and Brendan only takes on cases where, taking into account his workload at the time, he has sufficient time available to him to make the case.

Urban planning

The statutory planning procedures and guidelines that underpin modern urban development form an increasingly demanding and complex planning system. We are able to carry out feasibility studies to assess the development potential of sites. We can assemble teams of professionals, tailored to the development in mind and to the opportunities and constraints, presented by a particular site, in order to make a successful application

Rural planning

Our involvement in rural planning is wide-ranging and has included the preparation of draft statutory local area plans on behalf of county councils, a signage plan for tourist amenities in the Burren, a feasibility study of the Burren as a Learning Landscape, the investigation of a walking trail network and participation in a multi-disciplinary team making a Visitor Development Management Plan for Glenveagh National Park in Donegal
